MICHAEL “MICK” PENOSKY is an expert storyteller who writes thrilling novels of suspense with a faith-filled supernatural world view.
Mick was a starting guard for the Arkansas State University basketball team. He holds a Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University and is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar. For two decades, he served as senior attorney for the former Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court, and he is now a full-time writer.
As a student at Saint Patrick’s Grade School, Mick developed a love for Saint Patrick and all things Irish. That love led to a dozen trips to the Emerald Isle and the writing of The Patrician Prophecy Series. When he is not writing, he dusts the cobwebs from his basketball jump shot to challenge his teenage boys. He lives in the Carolinas with his wife Laura, their five children, and his faithful Lab retriever, Colter.
Dear Reader,
Welcome to my website. I am very excited you are here. My hope is that you would be thrilled and inspired by my novels. Every word I’ve crafted is with you foremost in mind. Although my stories are set in the here-and-now, instead of made-up places like Middle Earth, my goal is to humbly attempt the high bar set by Samwise Gamgee for heroic story, which as you may already know, applies equally to the journey of life:
“It’s like the great stories, Mr Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back. Only they didn’t, because they were holding on to something … That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.”
I draw inspiration as well from these ancient words of wisdom: “The path of the righteous is like the first glimmer of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.”
My desire is that these books would aid you with ever-increasing light and thereby allow you to better see the path to overcome the darkness of our times. Again, I am very grateful to have you. Enjoy.
